AC (air conditioning), we might say it as air condition is a machine, used in the process controlling the humidity of the air within a building or car and most importantly removes heat. In order to achieve a more comfortable interior environment. For the daily use in human life air conditioner is promptly needed. Even a middle class family also urges for AC, which makes this device an urgent need at summer in any place of the world. Most people don’t even know the full form of AC, but, they eagerly waiting to buy it. So, from our point of view there are some basic knowledge you should know to handle the device before buying.
Sometimes you buy a new AC but it does not cool the room properly or it takes time. Reason behind it can be many such as the AC’s capacity might not match the room size, there can be many other facts. That’s why you need to have knowledge about some few aspects before buying an air conditioner to find the one you really need for your room.
Firstly, find out your usage patterns such as
- How many hours are going to use the air conditioner?
- How many people will be in the room when air conditioner is normally being used ?
Secondly, identify the type of room you will cool with it
Note :- The type of room you want your air conditioner to cool down is also a fact. Depending on which, you can identify which type of air conditioner you should buy or how much capacity the air conditioner should have.
- What is the area of the room to be cooled on?
- How far is the ceiling?
- Does ceiling receive sunlight directly?
- Does walls of the room that receive direct sunlight?
- How much of stuffs such as furniture, electrical appliances are in the room?
Thirdly, find out which AC type will be perfect for your home and office
Note :- There are generally two main types of air conditioner available; Split type and Window type. The main difference between the two is that window AC has a single unit, whereas split AC has two units (indoor and outdoor). Split is lot more silent in operation as compared to the Window AC and it looks pleasing. But, if you are installing for office work then ceiling air conditioner is instructed.
Fourthly, it is important to identify the perfect air conditioner for your home or office to measure AC efficiency
Note :- The efficiency of the air condition is measured in EER (Energy Efficiency Rating). In simple terms, it is the ratio of pulling power (commonly known as tonnage) to the input power consumed. Storage is a measure for the cooling capacity of the AC system. Ton is defined as the amount of heat required to melt one form of ice in 24 hours.
For example if you have –
10 ft. room, then 1 ton capacity is needed.
As well as
10*11 ft. room – 1.2 ton capacity
10*15 ft. room – 1.5 ton capacity
10*20 ft. room – 2 ton capacity

Is it inverter AC or non-inverter AC ? Know the difference
In an AC with inverter technology, the technology works like an acceleration in a car. But when compressor needs high power, it gives more power. When it need less power, it gives less power. With this technology, the compressor is always on, but it consumes less power.
In a regular, non-inverter AC, the compressor is either on or off. But, the main difference is this, when the compressor is on, it work at a fuel capacity and consume full electricity which is designed to consume.
